A Good First Week
With only a few growing pains, the routine is started! Itch.io is a lovely platform and everything seams to be moving along well. As for this weeks progress;
AI improvements
I thought this would be a lot harder that it turned out to be, The AI now executes tasks in a orderly fashion. If the action is invalid it stops and try’s something ells. BUT there is another secret improvement. Now the Ai depends on the resources it gathers meaning the player can claim these and effectively starve the AI. Im VERY happy I got this working promptly.
Victory conditions
Alss, this did not turn out as well. For those that remember 5 days ago I wish to add a victory condition were the player could claim the starting station to win! Implementing was easy but testing lead to it either being a too simple way to win or just to expensive so it has been diched for now.
Dialog
Another element I need of trimming, when dreaming up this project I had expected to have access a studio. Unfortunately, with Rona still about that is not happing and what was once going to be well acted voice lines with subtitles is now laborious. So, snip snip and all my hard work ends up on the cutting room floor.
Whats next?
Well with plenty of time left in the week I decided to do some things on my wish list. My lovely Audio guy Peter has suggested added audio variations to the basic sound effects to make them more palatable.
