So it begins.


This is where it begins, the start of my summer project. I am extremely excited to share with you this project, one in a series of games (I hope) aimed at introducing people to the strategy genre. 

So here are the currently implemented features;

The first level in the five level campaign. This gives you a good tutorial on the first set of mechanics in the game, with which you can confidently play a skirmish. You are also introduced to the characters which we will be spending time with throughout the story (Art pending). 

Skirmish. A simple battle mode containing all the currently implemented mechanics. It's got a couple victory types and hopefully is a bit of fun.

Mechanics (Brief)

  1. Mining stations: To extract and sell raw materials.
  2. Goods stations: Processes materials into goods that sell for a better price.
  3. Global stock markets: With price fluctuations and separate pools for both goods and materials.
  4. Buying territory: To expand, one must purchase a tile, each time a tile is bought it becomes more and more expensive.  

Whats up next? Up next on my list of Todos is the next mission in the campaign involving a head to head with the story's antagonist (Leave time for the audience to gasp). This is already partially completed and will be delivered to the Friday build, if not the Monday Build.

My feature list for next week is;

  1. AI Task procedures: Making the AI complete its task in bites, rather than all at once will give me better balancing tools and be more fun to interact with.

New Win Condition: Making it possible to win by buying the other players starting station.

A relatively small list to start with as I want to get use to communicating my designs and leave time for testing the new level. Until then bois, have fun!
